Dear Chicago Harbors Boaters,

As you may have heard, unfortunately the Chicago Harbors will not be opening on May 1st as scheduled due to the ongoing public health crisis. I realize how deeply this affects our loyal customers, their friends and families, and the thousands whose livelihoods depend on boating in Chicago and I am writing to let you know we are doing everything we can to open the harbors.

The Chicago Harbors have been diligently working alongside the Chicago Park District in petitioning every day for a safe and responsible opening to the 2020 Chicago boating season. We have been keeping the City informed of boating polices in surrounding states and municipalities and advocating on behalf of Chicago boaters. As the situation evolves, we will keep you updated.

We want to get you on the water as soon as possible.

From one boater to another, I share your disappointment that we can’t be social distancing on our boats with our families. Your patience during this unprecedented time is much appreciated, and we hope it won’t be much longer until we’re back enjoying the lakeshore lifestyle.

Sincerely,

Scott Stevenson
