Fuel Spill During the past week, there have been instances of diesel fuel being leaked into the harbors by customer's boats. In each case, the amount of the discharge was small, but the sheen of diesel fuel on the water can cover a large area. Please do not over fill your fuel tanks, especially with diesel fuel. Anyone found discharging gasoline or diesel into the harbor would be fined and billed for cleanup efforts. Lastly, please report any spills to your harbormaster immediately.

REMINDER! As announced earlier, the Chicago Park District has strengthened its waste sanitation policy for 2005. As a result, every boat in the Chicago Harbor System will be required to have its waste sanitation system inspected for compliance. Beginning May 1, 2005 CPD inspectors will be performing inspections at each harbor. In addition, certain boatyards will be qualified to perform initial inspections. It is the responsibility of each permit holder to make sure that their vessel complies with the waste regulations. In addition, we are requiring boat owners to know what compliance method was used and have a basic understanding of how their system works. The Marine Sanitation Reports that we sent you in our March mailing must be turned in to your harbor office no later than June 20, 2005. Inspection decals will be issued after receipt of the Sanitation Report. Failure to follow the new inspection program will result in parking revocation, fines and/or forfeiture of assignment. We appreciate your cooperation.

Monroe Parking Extended! Parking priviliges for Monroe boaters in the East Monroe Garage have been extended on weekdays to 11:00 AM.
