Winter Damage and Dock Availability

Though we normally experience damage each winter, the severe weather we experienced the past few months has caused more damage than usual.  However, we have extra crews working on the docks and they started several weeks ago as soon as the ice started to melt.  We expect all docks to be open by the beginning of the harbor season, May 1st.

In the meantime all docks are closed while the repairs are underway.  Furthermore, there is still ice in many of the harbors.  Though we allow boats to come in beginning April 15th (except Monroe Harbor), we do not guarantee the availability of any services, docks or slips and there will be no security until May 1st. Furthermore, the harbor offices will not be open and there will not be staff assigned to the harbors until May 1st.

If you wish to come in before May 1st, you can call or email the Chicago Harbors office beginning April 14th for information on which docks are open or for a temporary slip assignment in your harbor if your dock is not available.  We will not have complete information or gate codes until then.  Also, if you are given a temporary assignment you will be responsible for moving your boat to its assigned location by May 1st.
